Transparency: I Made a Mistake

by Ryan Shell on June 12, 2009

I made a promise to you to run a transparent campaign and to admit mistakes… and it’s time to own up to that.

While attending the Greensboro Neighborhood Congress meeting last night a thought, for some crazy reason, popped in my head. That thought was, “Oh my gosh, do I have to have ‘Paid for by the Committee to Elect Ryan Shell’ on my campaign business cards.” The statement is currently not on my cards so I called Brenda Wallace with the Guilford County Board of Elections office first thing this morning to get an answer. She was not certain at first, but after doing a little research and calling me back she informed me that the statement does in fact have to be on my cards.

The error is in the process of being corrected, but I just wanted to let you know that I made a mistake and am taking immediate action to get it fixed. And to be clear, my effort to be transparent will not stop after I’m elected to the Greensboro City Council.
