Tragedy: Greensboro Cyclist Killed

by Ryan Shell on October 27, 2009

I was out of town over the weekend, but was deeply saddened to learn that a member of Greensboro’s cycling community was killed on North Church Street over the weekend. Not only were they tragically killed, the driver drove off…

As an avid cyclist I can’t help but  stop and think that it could have been me. That’s a scary thought to say the least. The next time you see a cyclist please calm your nerves and take an extra 10 seconds to pass with caution.

As a reminder here is a short video of what it’s like to be a cyclist on the roads in Greensboro.

And do me a favor. Before you carelessly pass a cyclist and put them in danger, ask yourself if you are willing to take someone’s life just so you can get somewhere 10 seconds faster.
