You may or may not know, but I work in public relations and marketing. Part of my job, and one thing I love to do, is to work with the media. Early yesterday morning I called WXII to share a story idea I had that pertained to the Greensboro Police Department (GPD).
I’m part of a new Captains Advisory Board for the GPD and after our first meeting Monday night I felt it was a very proactive way for the department to reach out to citizens, which is something people are always asking for. I shared the following info with WXII.
In short, this Board will provide a great way for the police department to share information with the community and for the needs/concerns of the community to be shared with the GPD. And when I reference community for this conversation I’m referring to the area that makes up the Central Division.
WXII liked the story idea and it was the lead story for tonight’s 6 pm broadcast. If the story gets posted online I’ll make sure I share it with you.
The point. Greensboro needs someone on the council that can help get positive news about the city on TV and in the newspaper. Had I not reached out and shared this story idea it never would have made it on TV. I hope you’ll give me the chance to continue sharing good news about Greensboro and making sure we are recognized as the great community that we are.
And if you are wondering, I also have plenty experience with handling the “bad news” and could be a helpful resource when the City is faced with negative news.

I’m not exactly sure I follow you here.
Why WXII? They’re a Winston station.
They are based in Winston, but they are a Triad station. Not to mention, the highest rated station in the market.
