While cleaning up some things on the campaign Web site I ran across a news story that is just over a year old. Let me start by giving some background.
I was made aware of an old parking lot that sits in front of the Home Depot on Eugene St. that had essentially become a dump – literally. Upon hearing about the story there was no hesitation on my part – I went out to clean things up. And I can assure you, it was a messy job and I saw a few things that made me shake my head in disbelief a time or two (Before and after photo).
There were a wide variety of items on the lot including trash, clothes, old suitcases, needles, “adult products” and a variety of other items scattered about. This issue had been ignored by Home Depot and the City had not yet proactively jumped on something that had apparently been an ongoing issue.
Please take a moment and click here to watch the video (right hand side of page you’ll see “click here to start video”) or click the video player below.
In the grand scheme of things this is a lot that no one cared about, but it was making a part of our community look absolutely terrible I will continue taking action when it is needed no matter if I am elected to the council or not. Doing whatever I can to help better Greensboro is my only goal.
If you’d like to help the campaign please do one, or more, of the following: forward this post to 5 friends, call/text 10 friends and ask them to vote for me, put a link to my Web site in your Facebook status or anything else you can think of that will help get the word out.
The primary is one week from today and you have the ability to help make a difference in this race – I hope you’ll put that to action.

Tooting your own horn again, Ryan?
Let me get this right. The dump is directly adjacent to the Truliant site, and you are employed with Truliant in some kind of marketing capacity. And you’re serving the public? Right.
The moral of this story is that you would make a better garbage man than city council member.
Sam,
Thanks for your comment. Actually, I was just sharing information with folks that shows that I don’t mind getting my hands dirty and take action when needed. From my experience thus far voters like to know what candidates have done… not just what they say they are going to do.
My efforts were in no way directly tied to my employer.
Ryan
