COUNCIL CANDIDATE ANNOUNCES SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Ryan Shell Will Give Away Five $1,000 Scholarships

Greensboro, N.C. (July , 2009) – Ryan Shell, a candidate for City Council At-Large, has announced that he intends to donate $5,000 of his annual council pay to fund five $1,000 scholarships; one for each council district.

“I know these scholarships will only put a dent in the cost of a child’s college education, but during these tough economic times any little bit helps,” said Shell. “While I intend to have an impact on the city as a whole, it is also very important for me to do something that directly impacts our youth. They are the leaders of tomorrow and I want them to know that I care about their future.”

Should Shell be elected the first scholarships will be given out in 2010.
