A month or so ago while picking up trash on Phillips Avenue I met a guy named Oscar. I was on the bank next to his back yard and he walked over and said, “So are you doing community service or something?” I explained what I had adopted Phillips Avenue and mentioned that my goal was to take steps to help clean up the neighborhood, one of which was to have some trash cans placed in strategic locations.
Here is part of a note Oscar just sent me,
“I mentioned that in my location I get allot of trash from a nearby store and you promised you would get a refuse can. THANK YOU KIND SIR. You kept your word and in doing so won an ally. This city need’s more people that will do what’s right not what’s right for them. You did what is right. Good luck in the upcoming election. You’ve got my vote.”
I’m just happy I could help. Thanks for the kind words Oscar.
